Since losing a baby in October (2011) at 6 weeks gestation my periods have been all over the place. Before this happened they were quite regular, I always began my period on or around the same date each month give or take 1-2 days. I bled quite heavily for around 2-3 weeks after losing the baby then stopped for a day, the day I stopped bleeding I started to take the contraceptive pill as instructed by my GP but then began bleeding the very next day so I was unsure as to whether this was my period or still blood loss I was experiencing before. I went to see my GP who told me to carry on taking the pill as usual as it will be effective still. I took the pill for around 1 month but then stopped taking it as my busy lifestyle just made this impossible to keep track of. I started bleeding a couple days after stopping taking it which I was told was my period, this was in November. In December I had a heavy period which lasted for 3 continuous weeks, I went to see my GP about this who said that this could have been due to be stopping taking the pill. I stopped bleeding at the beginning of January (2012), I then began bleeding again on the 21st January which lasted for 5 days, so I presumed my period was beginning to regulate again as this is how long they usually last for. I had a scan on my stomach the last day of my period (or just after, can't remember the exact date) to rule out any infection as my GP was concerned there could be something left over from the loss of the baby which was causing my unusual bleeds, the scan was clear and nothing was seen. I was expecting my period on the 21st February but have not had this yet. I have had sexual intercourse around 3-4 times since my last period and used a condom every time, this has not split so there is surely no chance of pregnancy. Could there be a reason why my periods haven't returned to normal since October? What possible reasons could there be for my body to not return to normal? I was just wondering if anyone has experienced the same sort of thing (either after the loss of a baby or just in general) and any advice would be much appreciated as I'm really confused about all this. Thank you.

there is always a small chance of pregnancy with contraception. condoms are 98% effective.
your body is confused. when you posted this it was only 1 day late and now 3 if you still havent come on so nothing to worry about. give it a few weeks. takes a while for your hormones to return to normal. and confusing your body by taking the pill then stopping wont help. good luck
I understand your difficulty using fact I had an unusual era cycle as properly. this is brought about usually using hormone imbalances on your physique. this is oftentimes extremely genetic as properly. My mom, sister, grandma all had unusual era cycles. i could advise going to the wellbeing care expert and happening the pill. that's what I did and it works splendidly. I had intense cramps and heavy classes too and that one and all more advantageous in a count number of months. there is not any could desire to have terrible long classes once you may have a extra prevalent era. there are various delivery administration recommendations accessible that could have the skill that may well be useful you which includes your concern. wish this facilitates.
