After being diagnosed with depression and anxiety my doctor gave me prozac but it had a negative effect on me. He changed the antidepressants to effexor(half of 37.5 pill) a day and xanax every night for my sleep. After waking up in the middle of the night with my heart pounding again he prescribed melatonin every night along with the xanax and effexor. I've been on effexor and xanax for 3 days everynight since saturday and added melatonin yesterday night.
Today I felt depressed this morning and very anxious, but now I feel unusally content and restless. Could the effexor be taking a bad effect on me? I'm 16 btw
P.S I slept a bit better yesterday and didn't wakeup/stay up as often. I also took up listening to someone and having faith in god. I'm hoping for an answer other than "Call your doctor". I called him too much already.
Update:I started taking b12 again and by content I mean happy

You need to relax and give yourself a couple of weeks minimum to adjust and see how you really feel. Don't stop taking anything without talking to your doctor. Give yourself time!
I have tried all of the above. The thing I ever tried is vitamin B12 I take the 1000mg dose. It is in pill form and I dissolve it under my tongue for maximum absorbtion into the blood stream. B12 is found in meats red meats and fish and is the hardest of the B vitamins to absorb. I also take the other b vitamins in smaller doses. So far The best I ever felt in years. Have tried all the pills doctors have prescribed and nothing has worked better than vitamin supplements. too many side effects from pills from the doctors
Make sure you tell your doctor how you feel . Some antidepressants make depression worse
Stop taking effexor & melatonin. Xanax is the only thing that will make your depression AND that restless anxiety feeling away. All those other drugs are for lunatics and if you're not a lunatic already, you will be after taking them. Xanax is the only one that helps. I know from experience
