So I'm not really sure whats going on.
I heard Hilary dropped out, and its now between McCain and Obama. But I don't know much about either of these men and I don't have the slightest idea where they stand in the elections.
Can anyone help me out, let me in on any facts or opinions, in a nutshell?
Thanks.

Obama will bring the change this country so desperately needs. Some people scoff at the word "change." However, that is because many people do not understand what he means by change.
If you read The Audacity of Hope you will see what Obama means by change. It really is not change as in a novel idea of how politics is done. He means going old school politics like in the days of FDR. His idea of change means moving away from the types of policies that Bush has instilled for almost 8 years now. For example, he will allow Bush's tax cuts to expire in 2010. McCain wants to keep the tax cuts. McCain is not about the type of change we need in America at this moment in our country's history. Obama wants the government to focus on the people. Better education system, fair trade, no tax cuts to companies that outsource, more money for research and technology, better health care and universal health care, etc. He wants to work from the bottom up. I think his background, personal and professional, have allowed him to see life through the eyes of the average to below average citizen. Start at the very bottom. Help out inner city schools with their poor education system. Get them better jobs and health care. Work upwards to encompass all of America. That is what we need. We need a President who is about the people. Isn't that what this great country was founded upon? For the people! That is why I want Obama in office. He cares about making America better and more competitive with the world.
McCain is a warmonger. He is sexist. He tells tasteless "jokes" about killing Iranians. He has a temper. He has a list of questionable associates (Rod Parsley, Carl Lindner, Charlie Black, Phil Gramm). He flip flops on every issue imaginable. Then he had the nerve to call out Obama on flip flopping. What a hypocrite! He said he needs "educated" on economics. He will "never surrender" in Iraq and keep our men and women there for "100 years" if needed. Need I say more?
Here's something I put in another question, it's basically why not to vote for Obama.
Why I'm not voting for Obama.
"Why do Obama's supporters have this great beneficent assumption of Obama? He's not a saint. Look up his "bad publicity" beyond just watching CNN, he has hardly any experience, he doesn't even know what he stands for, he just knows "Right", "Left", and when he has the majority of one side, he moves to the other to get more... It's obvious, the media doesn't tell you the truth of the situation, like Obama, they want the best ratings, as Obama wants votes, they will say whatever it takes to get more.
Iraq- Has actually gotten better, atleast in comparison to last year and the years before. 10% of the Iraqy police can operate efficently on their own, 22% of Iraq's army can capably run on their own, Soldier casualties in Iraq has declined by 67% since May of last year. 'The Surge' that both McCain and Bush voted for (Obama voted against) is working greatly, although you hear none of these things on the news, as 'they' say, "If it bleeds, it leads." And Obama seems to ignore the improvements.
Fact; Barack Obama has went to 'this' church for 23 years, which means, he was 23 years old when he started going their, pretty young. 'This' church supports racism, and is unforgiving of the long years ago, they also support the teachings of "James Cone", founder of "Black Liberation Theology" (look it up on Wikipedia). 'This' church also gave "Louis Farrakhan" an award for the "most truthful and honest". 'This' church is against it's OWN country. And Obama didn't even resign his membership after hearing any of this, in the first days of the church, of him just then, sitting in the seats of the church, sat there with eagerly enough to come back, and stay a member. He later was married in that church. Then baptized his children in that church. And calls the preacher of 'this' church his "friend", "mentor", and "uncle", and none of that has rubbed off on him, I guess for 23 long years, he sat there just disagreeing with it all?
Fact; He is unpatriotic, he ignores other peoples patriotism when they raise they're hand over their hearts, while he has his in front of him during the national anthem. He does not wear his american flag pin anymore (now it's in his pocket), which is totally fine, but when he was asked about it he says something like this "I don't want to be looked upon as 'taking sides'..." and continues to say, "To some, the American flag is the symbol of opression.", Really?"

It's more like, why I'm not voting for Obama, McCain is not my first choice, and is not the best possible candidate, but he is the gooder of the two evils.
EDIT; And please, pay no attention to stackoladan, he has to take everything McCain said out of context to make it sound bad, and some of the things are a downright lie, McCain is not sexiest, but Obama pay's the females on his staff lower than he does the males.
McCain is an experienced man, capable to face any problems we face, like the energy crisis, the economy, and the war mongers in the middle east.... You can sleep at night knowing that he won't shrink your paycheck by raising taxes, or give us a failed solution like socialized medicine, that's failed in Europe.
Obama is like an actor reading screenplays every where he goes: he has a script that promises the people of that state what they want to hear: in San Francisco, he loves liberals and promises to be a left-wing liberal; in Virginia he promises to be a moderate, leaning right moderate conservative. In fact, his policies flip-flop all the time, but no one cares because it's a racial statement to say he's unfit to be president.... there's too much racism going on and this time is from people of color, not white people. They are wanting to elect a man of color simply to make a statement that one of them can be president; nothing else matters to them; not even if the country goes to hell.
where have you been????
okay here's what you need to know
mccain is a retard on crack and the only way that the world will survive is if obama is president
if mccain is elected there is absolutely no hope and i will kill myself
so vote for obama!! save a life.
Obama is a professional con-artist that has wowed the youth and idealists with his lofty speeches and snazzy suits. He wants to increase taxes on hard working Americans so we can have federally madated, social welfare programs like they have in Europe.
And McCain is the Right choice.
