I have an old laser printer, an epson actionlaser 1000, with a parallel output. i got a parallel-usb cable to enable me to use it with my laptop, which only has a usb port. however, i cannot seem to get the printer to print. do i need some sort of driver for the cable to function? if so, where can i get it?

1. Yes you will need drivers.
2. Which OS are you running on your laptop? If it is Vista, you will not be able to run this printer. There are no Vista for this printer.
3. If it is Windows XP or '98, the drivers are on the XP or '98 CD. Check this out:
