Claim closed for increase in VA benefits. I looked at the ebenefits letters and they changed. This letter certifies that ----- is receiving service-connected disability compensation from the Department of Veterans Affairs
Gross benefits:$1312
net amount: $130
Effective date: 1 Dec 2013
Combined Evaluation 70%
I called the hotline and they said it was wrong! is he wrong or Ebenefits. Why would they change the letter? Why is the Gross and net amount different?

You received a letter and had questions, so you called the hotline and was told the letter was wrong.
At that time you should have been given information on how soon you would be sent a new letter.
It is possible that the letter is only telling you about the adjustment for the increase in benefits.
If you have been receiving only $1182.00 since last December the notice is telling you that you will be receiving a retroactive payment of $130 per month for December through April or May. And then your payments will go to $1312 per month.
It would be wise to either call the Hotline again for your answers and explanation, or gather all your paperwork and visit your local SSA office.
Best wishes and thank you for your service.
And as you should all ready know the only place for you to be able to get the correct information will be face to face with some one that does work in that VA office for this purpose.
Hope that you find the above enclosed information useful. 04/22/2014
I have no idea why your gross benefits are $1312 and net $130!! that is a lot of deductions, and no idea what they are
