Verdi's Opera Don Carlos/Don Carlo?
Reading the synopsis of the opera is raising the question in my head of was there really a woman named Elisabeth that came between King Philip V of Spain and his son and heir Felipe II or did Verdi just make up the love triangle for the dramatic aspect for the opera?
