I was wondering how I could lose 40 pounds by June. I'm a dancer and we might get a two-piece costume for recital in June and I've gained some weight that I just in general don't like. I also want to add that whatever you tell me to do to lose weight that I WANT to keep my curves.
Update:Could someone tell me some things to eat? Meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Running is the best all over fat burner. If you do not like running, have breathing problems or cannot run, you can walk at an incline. For example if you walk on a treadmill at 4 mph at 10 incline for 45 minutes, you have burned 500 calories. Eat mostly fruits, vegetables, and protiens. Try to cut back on sugar or not eat anything full of sugar such as candy, cookies, etc but natural sugars (found in fruit) are fine. Here is a meal plan that will help you lose weight fast and not be too hard to follow:
BREAKFAST
1/2 grapefruit
2 egg whites
slice of whole wheat toast
LUNCH
pear
banana
Fiber One bar
serving size bag of Sunchips(your choice of flavor)
celery with peanut butter
DINNER
breaded and baked fish (any kind you like) or chicken
peas or any kind of vegetable
brown rice
SNACKS
cottage cheese
fruit
vegetables
protien shake (one scoop protien powder, nonfat milk, frozen fruit)
Also make sure you drink enough water. Drink one glass on nonfat skim milk a day or have it in a shake and then drink NOTHING but water. Take your weight and divide it by 2. The convert pounds to ounces. For example, if you weighed 150 lbs then divide by 2 = 75 lbs then convert to ounces - 75 ounces of water a day. Make sure to drink that much water every day.
You lose weight as a ratio of (calories expended - calories in ) / 3500.
And you can identify based on your body weight how many calories to consume to exactly maintain your weight. You don't tell me your weight, so I can't do the math for you, but this is a BMR calculation...
http://walking.about.com/cs/calories/l/blcalcalc.h...
Then when you do that calculation, if you consume 500 calories per day LESS than your BMR, then that adds up to -3500 calories in a week, so you can lose about 1 lb a week on that plan, so it takes 40 weeks to lose 40 lbs.
There are pills and gimmick diet aids, but understanding and changing what what you eat and how much you portion, and possibly having more frequent meals with smaller portions is a step along the way. It is a bad cultural habit among Americans that we make Dinner our big meal of the day. It would be much better to start with a big breakfast early in the day, and taper down and not eat much of anything after darkness comes.
If you lose 40 pounds then you are probably going to lose curves.
To lose weight you only need to do some simple things like eating healthy and the right sized portions and doing at least 30 mins of exercise a day for 4 or more days a week. Also making sure you do at least 1-2 days of weight resistance training to make sure you aren't just losing muscle. Weight training can be things like sit-ups, push ups, planks and side planks. Your body is a weight so use it to your advantage.
Check out these meal plan links below. In the last 12 weeks I have lost 12 kilos which is about 26 pounds just by eating like this- not following is strictly day by day but by taking the ideas and seeing how I should be eating.

Eat like that and exercise regularly and you will see a major difference.
Be real about losing weight.
The faster you lose it the faster you regain it.
A good amount to lose is 0.5 to 1.0 kgs per week. If you do everything in moderation then you won't get any problems such as being overly hungry, light headiness, cravings etc.
Don't starve yourself as our bodies have an amazing way of not losing weight when we try this.
Lots of fruit and vege. Protein is great as we feel less hungry for longer. Small amounts of fat are ok and don't the fat cut out of your diet. You don't want to feel deprived in any way. Cut down as much as possible on your sugars, as sugar only gives you cravings.
You can either count calories (1200 per day) or count your fat grams (20 grams per day). Whatever is easiest for you. Drink lots of water, cut down on the caffeine.
Basic math is: You need to burn more than you are eating to lose weight.
But the most important tip is: BE SENSIBLE!!!!
Go to youtube.com and type in Dr. Neal Barnard. He has a lot of videos you can watch. I recommend his series of 4 short videos, total time under an hour.
He scarcely mentions exercise in the videos, but he’s very much in favor of it. Another thing he doesn't mention is taking a daily multivitamin. Take it.
distracted dining will get you in trouble avoid eating in front of a television or in a movie theater as youre bound to consume more calories
Before going to store to buy food items firts list them
love your chips and dip swap the lays for a handful of veggies
