Blaming the President for the condition of the economy is a little unfair, be it Hoover or Bush. The President get blame and/or credit for a lot of things that are beyond his control.
The economy was left in the poorest shape by Hoover. But Reagan?
Where did that come from?
That would be former president Herbert Hoover.
There were more bank failures and credit market failures than any other time in the history of the country.
So sorry to those who believe that it is the current president.
Herbert Hoover.
I concur that GWB has contributed to the problem, but the current situation can be traced back to Reagan's days.
It would be convenient to put all of the blame on one president, but a problem this massive does not develop on that short of a time line.
