Both of those processors are very similar, the Intel one is slightly faster. However, I would get the AMD laptop because the TDP of that processor is 25 watts compared to 35 watts for the Celeron processor. This means that your laptop won't produce as much heat and will get better battery life. It also comes with DDR3 memory which is better than the DDR2 memory in the Intel laptop. The AMD laptop also comes with better graphics which can decode HD video (full 1080p), while on the Intel laptop the processor is forced to do this, resulting in higher power consumption and a slower computer (when watching HD videos).

IMO, steer clear of Compaq. HP/Compaq has had the worst reliability record of major brands for the last couple of years. See below:

If you must get one of the 2, the Intel processor is marginally superior to the AMD.

intel has more experience with their products. so I would choose intel

Don't get aCompaq they suck thats wat kind i have now and when i first got it it would shut off and delete all my things and then they wouldent come back for like a month or so after.

I think that intel is the best one...........
