i definetly suggest Ouch Pouches. there are some that are really thick and people will tell you that they are better because they are more comfortable...well, pointe was not designed to be comfortable. but that's not the reason you shouldn't get thick toe pads. the thicker the pad, the harder it is to feel your box. with regular toe pads, you get padding and you can feel if you're on your box or not. i dont suggest lamb's wool because it wont cover your whole toe and ball. and it moves around in your shoe when you're dancing.
I kind of disagree with hannah darling because I have lambs wool toe pads and they do not move around in the shoe. They form to my toes like a mask and stay there while I'm dancing. Also, if you get the right size of lambs wool toe pads and you put them on correctly, they do cover your toes. Lambs wool is thicker and more comfortable than Ouch Pouches (I know because I currently use lambs wool and I used to use Ouch Pouches) and dry from sweat more efficiently. I hope that helped you
We were only allowed to use lambs wool because my studio was old school. I like the loose lambs wool better than the pads though. You can use the right amount on exactly the right spot.

I love love love Ouch pouches. If I have a blister I'll add a little lambs wool. :-)
The gel pouches make pointe so much easier, especially because I have long toes.
