i like rudy. he is the only candidate for my money who takes a common sense approach to social issues, a hard line stance on the war on islamonazis, immigration, and crime, and has a proven track record of doing the things it takes to sustain and grow a thriving economy.
and although i am an independent now, i was once a democrat. unfortunately, the democrats are a party so vile and loathsome at this time in history, i would not vote for one of them for anything...
I support John Edwards because he has the most concrete and best plans to deal with global warming, Iraq, health care, etc. I'm a Green Party member, so he's not in my party (though I would vote for the Green Party candidate if he had any chance of winning). John Edwards is quite good for a Democrat, so I'm willing to support him regardless of party affiliation.
Mitt Romney!! This is the first election in which I am able to vote so I was unsure as to which party I would side with, but Mitt Romney has helped me decide!
There are many reasons he is my favorite candidate but that would take up a lot of space, so here are three!
1.) He has offered to donate his entire salary to a charity. Coming from someone of money, it seems fishy that he would do such a thing and probably would give it to the rich, this is incorrect. He is a Mormon and Mormons donate 10% of their salary to charities regardless. If you look across seas to third world countries, you will see many projects that they have done over there, bringing people who have little survival rate into a more comfortable living situation.
2.) He is Republican, as am I. He upholds many beliefs on issues that I particularly agree with. If you look on this website: ( http://www.cnn.com/election/2008/candida... ) you will see his stance on particular issues.
3.) He is also a very personable, kind man. My boyfriend's brother works on his campaign and has nothing but positive things to say about him (they are unbias). Mitt Romney acknowledges those who work for him and knows their name. He maintains a close relationship, proving he truly cares about his citizens.
I have liked Brownback and Huckabee so far. They are the only ones that come across to me as sincere and they stand firm on the same side of the issues as I stand. I know they are way down in the polls, but hopefully they will be bigger down the road.
I wanted to give the Dems a chance and I watched most of the debate on sunday. I wanted to know if there is any candidate that I could support. I was sickened listening to them. There was so much bashing, not just of Pres. Bush, but of each other. I felt they were all very immature in this way. I think that intelligent people can find ways to disagree while still showing respect to everyone. I cannot justify supporting anyone who would behave this way and wants to lead this country.
So, no, I don't think that I was just going with my party, I was open to considering the others, they just failed at convincing me.
Former Senator Mike Gravel. And no, I've never just gone with the Party.
Gravel is the only one who dares to challenge his opponents and point out that since they are in one way or another corrupt, all their rhetoric about ending corruption is lies. You cant expect the corrupted to do a damn thing about the corruption.
People keep trying to shut him up by saying the Democratic Party should be united. But I'm with Gravel, I'd rather see a divided Democratic Party with some people telling the unfiltered truth rather than a DNC united in corruption and bullsh*t, which is what Clinton and the others want. They want no dissent so no-one calls them on their bullsh*t. (Chis Dodd got the Golden Leash award for Christ's sake!! How can he look anyone in the eye and say hes going to end the corruption! (Look up Golden Leash award if youve never heard of it.))
Romney; he is a problem solver and a fixer. He is extremely educated, hard working, and, being the only Republican to still be married to his first wife, a very moral person. Additionally, his communications skills and intellect are the antithesis of Bush. He is a great candidate and would make an incredible president.
This isn't typically me, but I favor a Republican -- Ron Paul, a congressman from Texas. I know what you are thinking... "Oh God! Another Bush." NOT TRUE. This guy is one amazing man. He has strong morals and values. He has integrity. Isn't afraid to stand up to the group. They call him "Dr. No" because if he doesn't think that it would be right or good for the country, he votes against it. Just a stand up guy with great ideas. Exactly what this country needs!!
And... he voted against the war in Iraq. He doesn't just vote "yes" because everyone else in his party does. He uses his brain and makes an educated decision.

Fred Thomspon, Mitt Romney, Duncan Hunter, and Tancredo are my current favorites.
Mitt "The Man" Romney
Of those attracting attention, Giuliani & Romney look good so far.
