To me, chinese, japanese, korean, and other far eastern cultures look like they've taken a huge amount of influence from western culture.
Why is this? Is it just my perception, bc they of course dont wear the clothing they used to over 100 years ago? Or have they really been influenced by the west to pervasively that their own native culture is dying out?
I'm not trying to be prejudiced, but I dont like seeing cultures die out, especcially to american pop culture.

Yeah, I noticed the same, and it's a pity. REAL pity. Because their cultures are far more advanced and unique to those of the West. And with the boom of Western foods spreading all over Asia, came the whole boom of cancers and diabetes and obesity. Hail West!...my @ss.
I read an article about this:
- There's this fascination people in the east have with the west...that it is some "magical", free world blah blah blah. Asians are more open to western ideals, concepts & media
- People in the west have this "elitist" way about them, i.e. they do not like change & prefer if everything conformed to their so-called perfect little world.
Well we are the strongest nation. Who would not want to copy us?
