Recently, when using HQ 720p MP4 files, PowerDirector has crashed randomly while editing. I'm not using any effects and have the preview quality set to "low" Also, when editing a video recently (AVI) with an effect on it, (the whole video was about 2 minutes long) I went to adjust the video length and it froze and crashed. Usually, I go do something, the screen freezes, I wait a couple minutes, nothing happens, I click, it says "CyberLink PowerDirector is not responding", I wait for it to respond, nothing happens, I click "close the program", Windows searches for a problem (nothing ever comes up), and I'm forced to recover what is left of the video I was just editing. I'm getting pretty frustrated, and just today upgraded to Ultimate thinking it would help, but it didn't.
Specs (I don't think RAM is the problem)
Intel Core 2 Duo @ 3.00 Ghz
-2.00 Gb RAM
Nvidia GeForce 9500 GT
-1.70 Gb RAM
Any help is appreciated.

Hi Gregory,
Unfortunately the problem you described is most likely your RAM... or lack of it.
Editing MP4 videos is hugely demanding of resources because the way the files are compressed is by throwing away data, making a note of what was thrown away then throwing the "reconstruction" process back on to the computer or playback device being used.
In your case 4GB of RAM would be a minimum for smooth editing.
One thing you can try is go through the list of processes (ctrl alt del) that are operating prior to editing and shut down manually everything that is needed. You would be surprised at the number of processes that are automatically loaded and are operating in the background on the average computer.
Do you patch to the latest PowerDirector?
And it's about time to upgrade you system memory to 4GB at least for HD quality video editing.
