It's really weird honestly.
When I first got this computer, it used to run perfect. I never had a lag problem before. But here lately, I've noticed that the whole thing lags when I'm running video or playing online games.
I frequent websites like DeviantArt, FurAffinity and InkBunny (art sites) and most animations on there will have trouble loading the video or game. I have difficulty scrolling down, because every time I click the down button it takes a good minute or so for it to recognize the command. Some animations, especially looped ones, won't play at all.
With youtube, the videos will load fine, but the rest of the page lags soo bad.
I've ran virus scan after virus scan with no threats.
I use google chrome, so flash updates itself automatically. Plus I've set it up to where i have to update shockwave manually (I had two codes and one was corrupt and keeping videos from playing)
I've made sure java is up to date.
Also, this computer is an asus x53u that runs windows 7 and I believe it has Radeon HD graphics.
Any ideas what is wrong?
I've tried almost everything I could and nothing seems to work.
Update:First, the only thing I have downloaded to my computer is chrome. I've even deleted all the pictures and music off of it in an attempt to speed it up.
And when I say "games" I mean little online flash games like http://browse.deviantart.com/flash/games/?q=pregfu... not big games like Guild Wars. I have a desktop that I use for games like that. My husband purchased the laptop because he uses the desktop so much.
So I literally have nothing on my laptop.
And even my old Windows ME processed flash games better than this new computer does.

It seems like that your Physical memory also known as ram is nearly maxed out, which means that you may either close some processes that you don't need or try re formatting the computer.
The Process can be closed down by opening the task manager. |
It could be many things, but what I have found is this. Try downloading these two softwares: glary utilities and advanced system care. They both should be free editions. Run scans for both of them and fix the problems on both. Go to your browser and find a way on google to clean up your history every time you exit out of it. This should help free up some space. Message me when you download those two programs, they both really quicken the speed of your computer. If it still does not work after you have tried this, then it may be your video card or the website themselves.
You should understand that your pc is not meant for gaming. So the graphics card installed may not be that superior.
You can update your graphics card.
Also you should understand that managing pictures is really a big task as in games mainly in 3d games number of frames loaded per second is more than 25-30 and each frame contains at least 1080
*800 pixels as per your configuration and that means you are required to load approx 1080*800*25*24( 24 bits for representing each pixel), means it requires to load 518 MB of data per second.
you can think of the burden on your graphics card why it is slow.
we didnt need all that information. you have too much junk on your computer. just delete some!
