Just got it for Christmas, opened it, been playing for like an hour. now the fan seems to be running load/humming. Not used to the humming with the Wii?
Its probably the DVD drive spinning the disk and that makes a very very loud noise. get a hard drive and install the games on the hard drive and then play them.
There are two things on any system that make noise (mainly moving parts)... the fan, and the drive. If the fan is whats making the noise its because you have bad air circulation around the system, try moving it someplace with better airflow (also the fan may be malfunctioning, in which case the system won't be around much longer anyways). if the noise is coming from the dvd drive, then it could be a number of reason... most likely of them is that the game may have dirt on it or be scratched. I have also noticed that sometimes depending on the system itself, the drive may run better or worse in a vertical or horizontal position. try switching it and see if it helps. Hope your system is okay... we all have felt the sting of the RROD
Yeah I had the same worry when I got my 360 there's nothing wrong with it it's just the way the sustem runs fter a while you won't even notice it. you can also try installing the games to your hard drive it runs a lot quieter if you do that. Hope that helps.
I had the comparable subject, first turn your 360 so its status on it backside, no longer on its slender area. next turn it on, watch for the loud noise to initiate, then placed your hand on suitable of the 360 and push down gently, if the noise stops its a damn fan or the disk spinning, it became into case placed a e book or heavy merchandise on suitable to resign the noise.
