I'm surprised that atheists argue that when we die we have to part in life ever again.
I can't see how consciousness, which is all we are given as sentient beings can simply end.
Once we die wouldn't that mean that everything else no longer existed as well, since our only perspective is a personal one?
Is there any real concrete proof either way?
Update:Consciousness in terms of out very existence, the existence of everything and our perception of them.
Update 3:Melvin, a lamp is not comparable to universal awareness.
I'm not religious to any degree and by my own observation I have been brought to regard reincarnation as a viable possibility.
Now please, I'm asking you to evaluate my belief on these grounds.
Concrete grounds

At any rate, since you put it that way it really comes down to whatever created us deciding to let us be conscious after separation from this body or just keep us in a sleep state until we get over it and then maybe give us life again if He feels like it. Or just relegate us back into the nothingness where we came from never to be again. It is not up to us. It is up to Him. I don't expect Him to give me another chance. Maybe you do.
You unplug the lamp and the light goes out.
Smash a calculator and it stops calculating.
I don't know what's hard to understand.
Death is an impossible horror for you, so you cling to say, "it isn't so".
The word faith was invented (or corrupted) to make you believe in things that have no proof.
When you have no reason or understanding, just that you "accept", the religious ones are there to pat you on the back, praising you because you have "faith". The scientific mind questions, does not accept something just because someone or some group says so. Looks for evidence with an open unbiased mind. Some of these things are impossible for humans, but it's in that direction we must go. But the religious ones are in the way, saying we are demonic have murdered those who would say that the earth goes around the sun.
I believe we will stream into greater concious...We are all apart of the collective concious after all. None greater than another, infinitely connected, infinitely reflecting each other, maybe it all comes deeper once we die, it's not really meant to be understood. And that's why we don't, maybe the universe doesn't want us to know to prove that we are really equally ignorant about this one thing in life. And it's really wrong to try to say or prove something about something we know nothing about. That's why I personally would never have a religion. It's pretencious, it's kind of one upping something that isn't meant to be known. The universe doesn't want us to keep kicking a dead horse.
you are right.....everything is a mere perception.....if you consider yourself element ..then you were already present as protiens, nutritions and any other microscopic things.....
and when we will die we will be disintegrated and become part of the soil from which plants will gain...
so indirectly we will become part of different activities which we understood through human life.....(i believe that consciousness becomes infinite when we die and human body make it bounded and limited)
but the logical part is here:we were already present in some different form (if you accept yourself to be human body as it is made of previous activities) ..and these forms disintegrated, we may have been conscious of those forms too.....
CONSCIOUSNESS WAS ALWAYS THERE
we are misguided by perceptions
i does not say that the study scientists do in the present day is nonsense, even if it really is done from a restricted attitude. faith won't be able to be shown by technological understanding. it truly is noted as signal-searching for. in case you'll in common words trust when you spot info, you'll by no ability trust. it truly is now to not be wondered with miracles that do happen, and indicators that God does provide to us, yet indicators and miracles happen after faith. in case you fairly want to understand if God is there and that your soul is eternal and is not destroyed once you die, pray with real faith, believing that God will answer your prayers, or perhaps if that's on the spot or in a pair years, he will answer your prayer. you're by no ability going to hit upon a passable answer from a paleontologist or anthropologist.
when you die that's it, you are dead. heaven if just a fallacy, dangled in front or religious believers to make them behave and follow the bible. dead is like a coma with no awareness.
Why not? You lack imagination. Consciousness is a function of your brain, when your brain dies, it dies. It's like insisting you can still run when you have no legs.
