The reason why is because healthy food contains less sugar and less salt, and is more plain, your body is smart because it knows with what type of foods it will stay stable and healthy with, but the question is... do you? or even if you do know, do you follow it effectively?
The reason junk food is better is because the junk food contains, that special sauce/masala, spicyness, too much sugar and salt which delights your mouth and infuses you with the taste and especially if you eat curry. Damn I have said too much and now am starving, time go grab some chicken and chips from my local take out, here is me losing it again and harming my body :(.

So we'd hunt and gather as much as we could when we could and one of the best things was fat: we'd eat lots so that we could lay down fat stores on our bodies to keep us insulated during cold months and provide our bodies with additional energy stores to keep us going until fresh food started to appear again in the spring.It's therefore hard-wired into our systems to crave fats as they used to be necessary.
2. junk food almost always has tonnes of sugar and salt in it. Both theses things are really moreish but also really bad for you if eaten in excess.
3. Food manufacturers know that the reasons their foods are so tempting are the additives in them and the ease of them. So many people would rather and instant meal that was full of flavour, than a less yummy meal that they have to spend an hour preparing.
The good thing is you can wean yourself of these additives so your body is no longer addicted to them and doesn't crave them like it does if you eat junk food regularly.
A lot of unhealthy foods contain a lot of salt and sugar which tend to taste good alone or even better when added to foods. Have you ever tried popcorn plain how does it taste in comparison to salted and buttered popcorn. I believe all the fattening foods just have a lot of salt and sugar which is just more palette pleasing to most.
