All he does is kick back and go on vacation to Hawaii and play golf.Wtf he's supposed to be making progress in the world. Now he signed that thing about "don't ask don't tell" Letting gay people enter the army? I have nothing against gays, but why is he allowing them to join the army? Isn't he supposed to be letting some free instead of having more go in? I don't even like Obama. Not because he's Black, but because he isn't doing sht but relaxing.
So,what do you think about Obama and why he should stay as our President.

idk, besides all the presidents in the US are just the same sh*t, nothing better than just f*cking lying politicians.
This is so far off of being correct that one is attempted to simply insert a little consternated laffy face shaking its head back and forth.
Go back, little neocon, and review the words of the Oath of Office that President Obama took when being sworn in on January 20, 2009. If you like a bit of true humor, even look up the JibJab parody that turned out to be an understatement for what the brand new President Obama had to face upon taking office. If you read the Constitution and Civil Rights legislation, you will discover that the "Don't Ask/Don't Tell" was never constitutional, even though President Clinton (a Democrat) and the Republicans in House and Senate pushed the bad bill through into law. No American should be faced with discrimination. The military has "The Uniform Code of Military Justice" to prevent any fraternization or sexual harassment, so this poorly conceived DADT law should have been repealed a long time ago.
Now, in the interest of accuracy and knowledge, why not go to the whitehouse.gov website and just read all of the different postings there---all done in less than two years and all making this nation stronger, safer, and more people-friendly. If you are in need of a high-paying job, make use of the recovery.gov website that shows at least 40 states with NEW PLANTS that are MANUFACTURING (we lost our manufacturing jobs when the GOP outsourced everything in sight to other nations) alternative energy products---a wave for the future that can make this nation the world leader in exports for earth-friendly green-energy products. Look up the New START Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty that a very wise and competent President Obama painstakingly negotiated with a reluctant Russian President Medvedev (it gives the UN and the U.S. full access to inspections of their nuclear sites)---a treaty that will help keep nuclear weapons-grade materials out of the hands of the Russian mafia, the Black Market, or would be terrorists. The consumer-protecting insurance reforms can be studied at cnn.com/healthcare or on the whitehouse.gov site, and there is a White Board which explains in simple terms various new laws that affect our lives in the positive. You will perhaps begin to understand that President Obama is AMAZING!
Gays were already allowed to join the military. The repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" just means they are allowed to admit they are gay while doing it.
I think Obama should stay as president because he has done a lot for our country. He turned our economy around (-6% GDP when inaugurated to +2% GDP growth now). He's implementing an exit strategy for Iraq and has one planned for Afghanistan. Health care reform and finance reform are realities. But the main reason why I believe we should keep Obama as president is because Republicans will likely gain control of the Senate after the 2012 elections. The worst policies emerge when the same party controls both houses of Congress and the presidency. I believe we need to keep Obama in the White House to act as a safety check on the legislation that will come out of Congress, much like President Clinton was for the Republican-controlled Congress of the 1990's. Otherwise, we'll see more of the policies that set our country up for economic collapse, like what happened in 2008.
By repealing Don't Ask Don't Tell, he is furthering freedom by giving gay's and lesbian's the right to fight for their country if they want to. I don't think you understand.. there are gays already in the armed forces, but they were highly discriminated against not only by the people who they have to face normally, but by the law of their own country. By repealing this, he is furthering equal rights and going about the gradual (as it has to be) change in America which will hopefully eventually lead to less overall discrimination against any specific parties.
If the government discriminates against the gay's and lesbian's, then of course same of it's citizens will habitually do the same. If the government has equal rights to all groups, which was the original idea when our nation was founded, then the citizens will model after this.
Perhaps he hasn't made the great leaps that you are looking in vain for, but no president can do that. Presidents don't take office and immediately change the nation for better or worse. You have to understand that the presidency is a job working with people. People are hard to compromise with and any change upon the nation has to be gradually brought - we aren't a nation of force.
I'm not specifically an Obama supporter, but I do think you're incredibly naive if you think he has done nothing but lounge around, especially since you are specifically calling the repealing of Don't Ask Don't Tell a minor and unimportant thing.
I was going to say, "I'd like to see you try to be the president," but as soon as the thought came to mind I facepalm'd. I'd never wish that upon this nation.
Ok, so, I am going to give you some valid reasons he was elected, please do not find offense in them or downgrade me because of the things that are said.
1) He looks attractive. Now, before you start freaking out, I mean that he is VERY charismatic, he has a way of speaking that gives him a very nice way of drawing people's attention. he also looks very young, which helps him earn votes from those who did not care about his ideals.
2) Family man. He has a family. A YOUNG one at that. This helps him appeal to America, earning votes from like families because they can relate to him
3) He is Black. Now, this is the main point that people will yell at me for, but I am sorry, it is a valid reason. Because he is black, and many people wanted a black president, he earned many votes. I mean, if your race never had a president, wouldn't you want to have a white, or Asian, or Native-American president? Sorry for the sensitivity.
4) Many people liked his promises. Sure, some may have sounded dumb, or inconvenient, but one thing one party offers that another does not may be enough to earn a vote.
respectfully, if you would pay a modicum of attention to the world around you and the events that occur then you'd know that repealing DADT was part of Obama's platform. Also, the military had to convince congress it was okay to repeal it, so before it ever got to his desk, both congress and the military had blessed it. But your conjecture that they can now join is amusing. there are gays in the military right now and they've been there for a long time; it's just that no one asked and no one told.
As for you not liking the president, that's your prerogative but please, do not spill your arrogance and your ignorance out like it some sort of factual data, it's offensive. Just because he's not out in front of cameras touting what he's doing that doesn't mean he's idle. it means he's busy doing his job but you seem to want to dwell on his down time rather than see bigger picture.
FYI: Glenn and Sarah are not news reporters, they're commentators who have to maintain ratings to keep their jobs.
First, to answer your question, Obama is the President of the USA because he was voted into presidency like every other president on record.
Second, before Obama was president, he was born and grew up in Kailua (next to my home in Kaneohe). This is where his family and friends are (not in Washington D.C.). His so called vacation everyone is ranting about is not any different than any other person going home for the holidays. Wouldn't you want to be with your family and friends in your hometown for the holidays and not alone? He is allowed to celebrate the birth of Jesus just as anyone else is. It just happens to be that his home is in Hawaii. Geography shouldn't matter.
As for him playing golf, he played on our base here in Kaneohe which is cheap and relatively humble to the World-Class golf course he could have chosen while here on Oahu.
So I would suggest to you and everyone else who is having a hard time accepting the right of someone to "go home" for the holidays, what would you want for yourself? Does this mean next year you will not celebrate Christmas and blow off your family? Plus, I am not sure what you do for a living, but technology is allowing Obama to continue to work while in his home here in Kailua. I fail to see your point about his being on vacation when he still continues to run the country here.
You are so ignorant! How do you expect him to get us out of the recession so quickly? Honestly, George W. Bush got us in this big mess and now it's Obama's fault? He has a full-time job and the weight of a whole screwed-up country on his shoulders, wouldn't you need a break? All you people do is sit at home and moan and groan about the unfairness of it all... And why shouldn't gays be in the army, they are not all stereo-type, girly and whatever, some of them are fit, tough and totally ready to defend they're country, why don't you want them to.. Obviously you have something agaisnt them. He's better than the republicans who are full of crap, he's doing all he can, and better than you could do. So, why don't you think before you criticize?
He is the president because he won the election. We live in a republic, and the winner of an election takes office.
Personally I want him to serve out the remainder of the next 2 + years and step gracefully aside when the new president is elected and sworn in.
Good luck to you Americans. I think most of your politicians are shady, there are greater powers at hand here. People like obama and bush are nothing but front line puppets. You guys are too quickly swayed by emotion and provado. Americas just some huge chess board now, its gonna make one helluva show! checkmate
