The VIDEO1 section behind the tv has the blue, green and red slots for the hd cables.
I plugged them in but the VIDEO1 input isnt selectable. Only COMPONENT and VIDEO2.
I even moved the switch from TV to HDTV and it still wouldn't work. Nothing shows with the switch on HDTV. If I plus the hd cables into the regular slots *yellow* it'll show when I switched it to TV but on Component. VIDEO2 is for regular components and VIDEO1 is for HD but I can't get HD to work.
Im not new to this so idk why its not working for me.
Update:It is a Sony Bravia KDL-55BX520 model.
And I already know about the yellow cables and what not.
I used to hook my system up with the HD cables awhile ago on another system but now all of a sudden it won't work.
I plugged the blue, green and red up then looked on every input while it was switched to HDTV but nothing.

The Red/Blue/Green cables are Component Video (which is HD capable). I don't know what make/model your TV is, but whatever Video 1 and Video 2 mean, try Component - you'll see whatever signal you are sending over the R/B/G (usually in Y/Pr/Pb format). The twin RCA cable (Red/White for Right/Left stereo) should also be near the RGB inputs (note that there are 2 Red - don't mix them up!). See here for more about Component video:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Component_video
Hope this helps... Good luck!
(You can write back with Additional Details w/make/model and we can probably tell you more...)
EDIT: The Yellow cable is for Composite video (which is NOT HD, but Standard Def. - same Red/White for audio), commonly called A/V (or AV) on TV Input lists. Apparently your TV is smart enough to know when a signal source is plugged into an input and functioning since it makes unused inputs inaccessible.
EDIT: Orlando, here is the .pdf manual for your TV:
http://www.docs.sony.com/release/KDL55BX520.pdf
Pages 7 and 8 show the diagram of the inputs on the back. The manual says "Video 1 can be used for Composite video" (which is NOT HD, Composite is SD - the Yellow cable you know all about). Then the manual says to use Component input (as I already suggested - the Component inputs are the Red/Blue/Green inputs, also marked Y/Pb/Pr - DON'T use RGB - that's for VGA from a computer). If you use these inputs, then select Component Input from the menu you should see your XBox. If you don't, you either have bad cables, bad input connections or some other thing is malfunvtioning, which I cannot diagnose without seeing it. (STILL have no idea what "TV or HDTV switch refers to). Sorry if this is no further help...
