When I saw the first one I thought that it really did happen. The movie stayed in my head for weeks. Its really a good movie. P.S ....Paranormal Activity 2 will be in theaters October 22
I'm really tired of reading all this BS about how people shouldn't go see this, how it's a waste of money and a cop-out and garbage... If you don't want to see it, don't see it. Stop complaining about Hollywood being cheap. It's marketed to a certain group of people. Yes, it's a cheap film - it's supposed to look like that. Not one movie has been made that has made every single person in the world go, "Yes, that's a great movie." Everyone likes different ****.
Will I see it? Yes, definitely. The story is creative and it hasn't been done over and over - that right there gives it props for me. And in the right setting and mind sight, it really does have the ability to scare the living hell out of you. But you have to want to be scared - going into a theater with a crappy audience and a negative attitude from the start won't get you anywhere.
Go see this movie to have fun, not to be a critic.
Nope, it is a blatant, atrocious attack on a credible field of science to make a fast buck. Hollywood needs to be made to put a warning infront of this garbage just after the credits after the first few sence in big red letters on a black back ground. FICTIONAL AND DRAMATIZED FROM A CREDIBLE FIELD OF STUDY
No, I refused to watch the first one, and I see no need to watch the second one either. I don't waste time and money on such obvious "balle" as that or the "2012" movie.

No...I won't go see it in the theaters, but I might buy it on dvd when it comes out
(like a cpl months later)
I haven't seen any trailers or promo clips from it.
Is it suppose to follow up from the first one, or is it just a knock-off?
Another mentioned the "Blair Witch" sequel.
That movie wasn't really a follow up from the 1st
as much as it was just a movie about others that seen that movie(or so called Legend)
and went searching for or about it and came upon bad experiences.
(just a movie, it wasn't done in the "Home Movie" first person(s) experience)
If I was to do a sequel to "Paranormal Activity",
it would probably be with a person searching for the girl that was Supposedly possessed,
and trying to bring her in for the Murder of her boyfriend.
(would also make the person be a Paranormal investigator so he/she would know
and believe about such things so they would also be a little scared about the whole situation.
