I have a hp pavillion desktop running windows xp, i had a problem with it so i tried using a recovery disk from a dell computer. My computer is now working but not to its full potential. I have no audio for some reason, I cant make my resolution of my monitor as high as i need, and a few other things are acting funny, is there any other way i can fix my computer or have it go back to the hp xp os?

You need to install new video drivers and any other that aren't installed. You can get from HP's website or from the device manager in the control panel, system and the hardware tab.
Good luck
Hi, you are more than likely missing missing some drivers for your system.you can go here http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html and enter your system and it will give you a list of drivers your system need to operate correctly. Drivers are the software that makes your hardware work correctly. so you need to get the right drivers on your system. The other more correct way of solving your problem is ordering the system restore disks from hp for your system. It saves lots of time. that information can be found at the same site listed above. If you have the time download your drivers and you should be good.
Yes your HP site has a Driver Program that looks for needed drivers. Then asks you which you want then downloads them..
Some call it (driver managers) or (driver scanners) (Driver Utility)
That should do it and if you have the SERVICE TAG ready- it will tell HP what drivers/software was put in your PC upon shipment..
