One thing MUST be emphasized... SOMETIMES the wetness on the seat is NOT someone else's urine splashes. I have seen a toilet that flushes SO "violently" it actually splashed the WATER onto the seat. So don't assume it's urine and get all grossed out.
Also, there are actually 10 things which contain MORE BACTERIA on their surfaces than the average toilet seat... and you are USING one of them RIGHT now!!! They include:
--- phone receiver
--- desktop
--- doorknob
--- computer keyboard/mouse
--- elevator buttons
--- shopping cart handles
--- escalator handrails
--- ATM buttons
--- kitchen sink
--- subway turnstile
So please don't get so darned freaked by bathroom stuff! There are germs EVERYWHERE!!!
I always wipe the seat first. If the bathroom seems unclean I will put (clean) paper over the seat after wiping it down. Sometimes I used baby wipes from the diaper bag in a really dirty looking bathroom.
I tend not to use public restrooms, but when I do, what I do depends on my impression of the specific bathroom. Is it well kept or does it "feel" dirty? Most of the times, it's not clean enough to me, and I'll put toilet paper on the seat, trying to use as little of the seat as possible.
It sounds like every women covers the seat with something or doesn't sit on it at all so i guess i'm good to go ahead and sit on it since everyone else cleans it for me....lol
final time i became into in the mens bathing room and a few dude purposely peed everywhere in the bathroom paper and wiped boogers on the wall. So adult men must be gross in public restrooms too ... no longer purely women. to boot, adult men on common are dirtier than women. Accroding to many study, 40% of adult men do no longer wash their palms after using the restroom, while in comparison with women that's 20%. meaning adult men are somewhat bit dirtier than women. I might desire to comprehend this because of the fact i'm a guy myself. I not often wash my palms after using the restroom ... xD
I use tissue seat covers or toilet paper. always shut the water faucet off with a paper towel and to open the door. thats what i do and I always carry hand sanitizer.

Squat, but I put paper on the seat just in case my balance isn't as good as I think!
Hover over the toilet, usually put t.p. down first so I don't get any on the seat.
