My first question got deleted and not sure why, but I need to know the answer. I know I need to replace the speed fan resistor assy under the right passenger side glove bag. The manual recommends defeating the air bag temporary to allow replacement since some circuit are near the same area. I really do not want to mess with the air bag electrical circuits and notice the speed motor resistor has nothing to do with the air bags other than being near the same area. Has anyone replace the resistor assy. without temporary defeating the air bags, It looks easy to replace, but wanted to check for some real hands on advice.
Update:GM thanks, but that is what I'm trying to avoid. What's the estimated cost? $120 to 150 for 10 mins and a $30 part? Why is something so easy to cost so much? BTW, I understand the problem still comes back after a little while.

Since the fan is located on close proximity to the passenger air bag, I recommend having a technician at your local Chevrolet dealership take care of this for you.
