Hi,
So you want a new VGA eh?Yeah a Virtual Graphics Adapter. So i would consider buying nvidia geforce 8800 gt or gtx because you could play a lot of cool games with ultimate reaality and you can even watch the HD-DVD movies with High Defintion. And another tip JUST MAKE SURE YOU HAVE 5 COPIES OF THAT DRIVER CD WHICH COMES ALONG WITH THE CARD SO THAT YOU DON'T SUFFER LIKE ME UNABLE TO INSTALL THE CARD AND CANNOT PLAY EVEN EMULATED GAMES FOR PS1.
BYE
Well you should be able to get a 8800gt for that price. We just bought a few for work.

As for which is better? ATI- or nvidia? It's like PC vs Mac, intel vs AMD, Ford vs Chevy.
However, in pure benchmarks, the 8800 from nvidia easily beats the ATI counterpart, the X1900 series,.
You might consider an 8800 GT. It can run pretty much anything you can throw at it at high settings.
And in general, i prefer Nvidia.
It improves pictures processing, yet merely nominally. there's slightly ingredient referred to as "The regulation of Diminishing Returns," which says that for each added greenback spent, the consequent develop in overall performance gets smaller. The smart ingredient to do (with very few exceptions) is to get the terrific GPU you could arise with the money for the 1st time around. SLI and Crossfire are a royal PITA to establish...and, frankly, are no longer properly actually worth the attempt and cost.
