I'm interested in air traffic control but i'm confused about how some sites say that you need a 4 year degree. But aren't you wasting money cuz some AT-CTI schools are 2 year and you can still be accepted to the FAA Academy.
Anyone went to the 2 year AT-CTI schools and got into the FAA Academy?
Will there be a difference in where i would work at if i have only a have an associates in Air Traffic Control?

I'm just a pilot so I just get information about ATC second hand. However, I don't believe a 2 year degree is required. You may make less money though because it could affect your gov't pay grade. However, I believe the big obsticle with joining ATC is that you must start work before you turn 30 or have military experience at ATC. Federal law prohibits hiring people for ATC that do not have prior ATC experience who are over the age of 30.
A buddy of mine applied at the beginning of the year, he went through the preliminary program over the summer. He has no degree, and now he's working in approach control(even though he's still training). Just apply with the FAA like he did.
