I want to put Ubuntu on my laptop, which will work alongside Win7 Pro. I know I want to use the 64bit version of Ubuntu, but here's my question: The end of the downloaded file is "...-amd64.iso", this is what downloads when I click on the disk image button in the Ubuntu site, however, the laptop is a Intel Core i5. Is this the right download? If not, where is the right one???
Thanks for any info.

It is called amd64 because amd was the first to make the 64bit architecture so the named it amd64 it will run fine on a 64bit Intel. Actually right now im running 64bit Ubuntu on My intel Celeron.
Edit: yes its fine to download and will work amazingly on your i5 but make sure you have atleast 2gigs of ram :)
