Please excuse me if this is a dumb question. Someone did the whole "lesbian trapped in a man's body" joke, and that made me think about what that would actually be. So I guess my question is, how common is this compared to gynephilic transmen and androphilic transwomen? What are the orientations of people in relationships with them? And are they as likely to have surgery / HRT?

Like in the non-trans population, LGB folks are also a minority in the trans population, but they are definitely a much heftier percentage in the trans community than they are in the general community (where it's anywhere from 3-10%). Exact numbers aren't available, sadly, but it's estimated to be far more than that.
The orientations of the people in the relationship with them? That depends largely on them, no? A man might be in a relationship with a transwoman and he might be straight, or he might like men and women both, and be bisexual. Heck, there are even some lesbian-identified women who date transmen. Now, if you're asking what kind of relationship it is, then it's simple:
Transman + man = gay relationship.
Transman + woman = straight relationship.
Transwoman + man = straight relationship.
Transwoman + woman = lesbian relationship.
Transwoman + transwoman = lesbian relationship.
Transman + transman = gay relationship.
Transman + transwoman = straight relationship.
And lastly, orientation has little to nothing to do with whether or not one gets surgery or HRT.
there are lots of sexualities, especially for trans, me for one am physically, mentally, and emotionally attracted to women but i am physically attracted to men, it may be body envy or not i really dont know.
