I am 23, 208 lbs and I have been lifting pretty hard for about 6 months. I don't like maxing out with 1 or 2 reps so I barley do it unless I am just messing around with some friends on a chest day. Anyway, I am stuck bench pressing 220 9 times. It has been like this for 2 weeks and it is starting to discourage me. I have tried switching up my work outs, and all that stuff. Can somebody give me some advice? Should I blast my Triceps harder I don't know what i am doing wrong. It makes me mad to go to the gym and I see these highschool kids repping like 270 and my chest is a lot bigger than theres. I just don't get it.

I had the same problem when i was 14 i was repping 250 for 5 reps and i couldnt get any more,,then u had my coach watch me from the side and he said i didnt have the greatest form so i had to fix that he video taped it and the he video taped him and said watch these and try to figure out what your doing wrong, Very sadly to say it was simply the bench was digging into my shoulder so make sure that your shoulder isnt digging into the bench too hard... and have a instructor of some one that is really into it for years and years look at your form and make sure your doing it right..because just slidding on to the bench a little more made me do 15 reps of 250, now im 15 and rep it 21 times, im aalos the quarter back so i have to be very strong i squat 450...but i tore my acl so i have been working on upper body for the last few month while still on krutches i finally got off of them not to long ago, so sorry for the life story here but..
Hope this helps!
