What would you consider the best potrayal of an American president? When did you think Hollywood's casting found the perfect actor for the perfect portayal of an Americna President?

My personnel favorite is Brain Keith as Teddy Roosevelt in the movie "The Wind and the Lion."
Update:Thanks William I greatly concur, I did very much enjoy Robin Williams portrayal, and I agree with you on Patton. Had the real Patton looked & talked like George C Scott then I think Eisenhower would have had Competition for the job of Supreme Commander Europe.

I never cared much for any actor's portrayal of a president, but a few comedians have done wonderful jobs imitating them.
No actor can possibly recreate the majesty and dignity of Washington or Lincoln. As for some of the others, I don't know that the best comedians can do justice to how ridiculous they are.
As for actors portraying historical figures, sometimes the opposite is true- George C. Scott made a better Patton than Patton himself.(YouTube has direct comparisons).
As for comedians portraying Presidents, Robin Williams wasn't bad as Teddy Roosevelt in the "Night at the Musuem" movies.
I loved Kevin Kline in Dave. That was not only fictional but Kevin Kline played a character who was pretending to be president. Maybe it's because he ended up with Sigourney Weaver which is a wonderful ending to any movie.
I have to mention Harrison Ford in Air Force One. He wins points for being the toughest president. It's also an entertaining movie.
Joan Allen in the Contender. Fictional, but one of my favorite movies.
I never really liked portrayals of actual presidents, so I don't have any to name.
I have to agree with you on Brian Keith as Teddy. Glenn Ford did an okay job as a fictional president in a movie about a plague, I forget the name though.
i come across those persistent "it rather is a certainty" approximately Obamas non-Muslim association stressful at ultimate. the only so referred to as certainty is Obamas denials. I nonetheless ask: If Wright "further" Obama INTO Christianity, the place became Obama earlier ? became he an atheist ? agnostic ? i do no longer even care he went to a Muslim college and in certainty, i do no longer care if he's a closet Muslim. I resent being LIED to and deceived by way of fact Obama knows, a Muslim would not be elected, after the 9/11 ordeal. no person has ever shown he's or isn't, so for me the suspicion keeps to be good. undertaking for Obama, is that there is a rumor of a e book popping out in August.........if it validates Obamas participation in Islam and his ideals as a Muslim, then he's a comprehensive LIAR and thats what i presumed we've been attempting to vote out of workplace, no longer replace with a much bigger one.
