I'm in my early twenties. I've been taking over-the-counter emergency contraceptive pills for the past 6 months - I've taken just one every month. I've been experiencing progressive reduction in menstrual flow over these months - this month it hurt a lot more than usual. The uterine membrane has been shed but there is absolutely NO FLOW this month - the few drops that did come out are black and look like old blood. This happened last month too - but I bled for one day. Is this normal? Does this signify that I may have a cyst or something? Please help. Thank you.

Emergency contraception stops everything and forces you to shed your lining. Disrupting your monthly cycle and having these pills for six months has not given your body a break.
Of course your going to have problems if you take them once a month! This is very very unhealthy, there's a reason these pills are called "emergency contraception" they're only supposed to be used in an emergency. I very much doubt you're having one of those emergencies where contraception has failed or you've woken up unsure where your panties went once a month..
If you're having and emergency once a month I think you need to reconsider what contraception you are using.
Using emergency contraception so regularly is not good for you at all.
I'm not sure completely whats gone worng but I seriously suggest you go and talk to a doctor and ask for any alternative contraceptives, eg the implant, the pill, condoms
There could be a serious probables developing if you use them any longer
Speak to the pharmacist where you were given them, they should be able to advise
