the tank is 7 gallon atm but i will be upgrading to a 30 gallon asap.
my question is do you have any ideas on stocking? i currently have 3 very young monos and 2 bumblebee gobies, im looking for just 1 more type of fish, preferably of social or neutral disposition.
Update:ok some extra things: 1. i dont need a lecture on tank size, while i dont know everything about fish i do know enough to know that with a custom built 30 gallon tall fish type tank i could fit the monos comfortably. as for the fighting that you had mentioned: that's them establishing the pecking order, no mater how many you have, that WILL happen. This exact species only needs to be in a group of three. thanks for the advice folks but most of your info seems to be internet info, embellished significantly. although thanks for the suggestion but i think if i'm going to go with a puffer i would most likely pick a green spotted puffer, i like the look more. as for the chiclid i dont think i want any aggressive fish.

There is not many brackish fish that would work well in a 30 gal. The mono's will very quickly outgrow that tank. You could try some red chromides. They are very colorful and are the only true cichlid that I know if that are brackish.A 30 gallon tank no matter what shape is definitely not big enough for monos. Do you realized they will get close to 8 inches long? And the red chromides are actually more peaceful than the puffer which can and will fin nip almost anything you put it with,
Monos do better with groups that are more than 3. As they grow older, they will start to fight each other to near death unless you add more monos. But yeah, you would need a much bigger tank than 30 gallon, so I don't know, I would add some guppies to your 30 gallon, maybe a figure 8 puffer fish. Guppies would be my first choice, because they won't make it difficult for you to feed your bumblebee gobies.
