Every time I turn on my camera and try to take a picture it freezes up and the screen goes blank. None of the other buttons on the camera will work, not even the power. I end up taking the batteries out just to get it to turn off.
Any ideas?

Make absolutely certain that you have good batteries. Digi cameras do strange things at low power. And make sure that your memory card is good, in right side up, and not corrupt. But it sounds like you may need a repair. That can run into the hundreds of dollars. If that exceeds the price to replace your camera you are probably better off just buying a new one.
It sounds to me adore it is feasible your digital camera is concentrating on the improper item. That is a drawback with automated cameras, the digital camera does now not realize what you ought to take a photograph of, and awareness on some thing within the heritage alternatively leaving your area blurry. You can traditionally manage this drawback through studying the right way to factor your digital camera on the item you're photographing, locking the awareness through keeping the shutter unencumber part approach down, then rapidly framing your photograph and pushing the shutter unencumber all of the approach down. I realize you do not wish to listen to this, however a proof of ways your precise digital camera handles this process is placed within the handbook. Knowing what to seem for alternatively of simply paging via the blasted factor hopping an answer will bounce out at you would support. Anyway, that's the very first thing that involves my brain whilst you describe your drawback. Good good fortune.
