I have this parakeet and two cats. They have recently just met each other and today the parakeet is flying every where having a great time. The cats seem to having a great time interacting with it not in a rude way. The cat likes to pet the bird and sometimes the bird lands on top of the cat. Is there anything to look out for when having the parakeet interact with the cat?

Seems like they're ok with each other. If anything would happen ... it would have by now.
Parakeets and cats can the two stay jointly as long using fact the cat cant get to the fowl. i in my opinion have 2 cats that merely watch my parakeets and as long as they stay of their cage or supervised while out, they must be all appropriate jointly.
They can co-exist but you should not let them interact. Cat saliva contains the Pasteurella bacteria which can kill birds and since cats lick their fur it is not safe to let your bird come into contact with it.
Sooner or later, the cat's instincts will surface and birdy will be lunch.
Not a good idea to have them interact, in my opinion.
