Can sickness cause acid reflux?
I had a bad sickness bug at the weekend and was sick at least 16 times in 12 hours, that has cleared up but I now keep getting what I think is acid reflux. Are the two connected? Have just bought Gaviscon so will see if this helps. Thanks

yes it is connected. when u were sick you forced acid into your esophogus which irritated the lining. now its sensitive.

I am sure you must have done a lot of research on Acid Reflux: here goes: Acid reflux is when acid from the stomach leaks up into the gullet (oesophagus). This may cause heartburn and other symptoms. A drug which reduces the amount of acid made in your stomach is a common treatment and usually works well. Some people take short courses of medication when symptoms flare up. Some people need long-term daily medication to keep symptoms away. I thought I had Acid Reflux, and my doctor recommend Nexium, However, I ended up in the Hospital with pancreatitis and I had morphine for the pains. I suggest, you see a doctor, and have your stomach checked thoroughly.
