If it were ME, I would keep the car as long as I NEED it, and sue them or the driver if need be to get my money back.
Ins companies are ALWAYS trying to cheat people with low-ball offers, hoping you will just give up and leave them alone. Unfortunately, it quite often works.
If necessary, get an attorney.
Contact them again and tell them you need more time. Also, do you have rental coverage on your own insurance? Either way, most policies don't actually cover the total cost. They get you coming and going....
