I recently bought a compaq presario 1810 notebook from a nearby garage sale...i kno, tacky.

Anyways, it came with the battery inside, an ac adapter for charging and the notebook seemed in good condition. While starting up however, the screen goes black after the COMPAQ sig and says

"Error Loading Operating System"

Ive tried hard rebooting and 've looked at a million FAQs, but to no avail i cant get in.
