im building a desktop which i will use for pretty much everything...web, gaming, i will be playing mostly starcraft2. at first i decided to go with a mobo that had an onboard video chipset, radeon hd 4250 is whats on it... then i bought a video card that was on sale it is a powercolor radeon 5750 1 gb for 89.99.... compartive wise how do those cards match up?? was buying the 5750 a good idea?

Yes! by alot, you are taking the stress off your cpu trying to produce graphics with the onboard chipset. Onboard graphics usually always suck for gaming. I bet you will have a REALLY nice increase in performance while gaming with that card
it's going to be a huge difference in overall performance. extra constructive video high quality and it will use its own memory instead of hogging the onboard. the version is fairly basically the producer.
The 5750 will eat the 4250 alive, crap it out, eat it again, then puke it up, then piss into that puddle of puke.
