This has been a problem for some time now but I figure it is about time to fix it. Randomly, my computer will just restart itself. It usually only happens when I am trying to do something on the computer, never when it is idle. Lately I have been playing a new game and every time i get to a certan level, the computer restarts. I know the new level has much more to draw (ie more graphics and such).
My friend said that it would probably be the power supply overheating or something. I think that its the motherboard.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?
Update:there is no message. it just reboots.

Yeah,, probably you're friend is right. One question though. Is there something appeared in your monitor (when you played a game) before it actually shutted down? Kinda something like error messages or DOS mode like - text/prompt.
If there is, then kindly check your video card or memory. It might be the problem. Or if just shut down, as in BLANK Screen, then it's the power supply.
I was woken up one morning by my computer restarting over and over again. I had the same problem as you until that morning. My problem was the msblaster virus. The longer it was taking me to eliminate the virus the less time I had to work on my computer till the next restart. When I got it fixed I was down to 90 seconds of run time after os booted up in safemode. It just kept spreading. Try a virus scan just incase it's something that simple.
someone could of hacked your hard drive if your powersuply is bad it would just turn off i think or maybe you should reinstall windows maybe i dunno
