three months ago i hired a contractor to paint the inside of my house and remove old sinks and put new sinks in and lay some tile down.
He charged me $2,000.and worked at my house 4 days.
He rushed me to get him the money the second day he was here..... (I will never do that again until they are done) even though didn't think much of it because he was a friend of a friend. When he left that day he left my house was a mess. Paint all on my tile and didn't clean the new tile and the walls all needed another cote.
Well now three months later... the tile is cracking and the cement around is braking into pieces and its only three months after he put it in. Also the new sinks, the water is coming out white!
Update:why is it coming out white??

Take good close up pictures tell your friend to tell his friend what has happened and see if he’ll correct the problems ( this has to be done to full fill legal requirements ) in other words you must give him a chance to make it right. If he fails to do anything or tells you to pound sand then get a real professional to view the work and render his assessment to the quality of the job. Have him describe and write out the problems then take the contractor to small claims court. You must do these things I’ve described because you will have to show the judge that you have been harmed your pictures and your say so is not good enough. You must have a second party in the business to verify the poor work then your pictures will have validity as well as your complaint. Without verification from someone in the business you have no real proof you’ve been harmed and if you don’t give the contractor the chance to do the work correctly the judge will tell the contractor he has so many days to fix the problem, this just delays your judgment. What you want at this point is your money back, do as I say and that should happen.
1.Give the contractor a chance to fix the problems.
2.Take plenty of clear close up pictures.
3.Get a second party ( another contractor ) to write out and explain in detail the problems.
4.File a claim in small claims court.
5.Bring your pictures and your written statement from the second party contractor.
6.( this is important ) Speak only when the judge asks you a question and do not interrupt the contractor when he lies ( which he will ) wait for your turn to speak to address his lies. the judge will give you time to speak and address the statements the contractor made.
What part of the job would you say the contractor did acceptably well? I can't see any, from the info provided. Hire a tile company to remove the mess and retile, then hire a paint contractor to do the paintwork. Check references and look at BBB ratings. My BBB rating is "A+" -- never a complaint in 8 1/2 years as a homebuilder.
Sounds like you need HOLMES ON HOMES LOLS yep he did a bad job, are you satisfy for the job he did? NO are you happy on how it looks? NO Are you screwd? Maybe. I would recomend take pictues of everything for records and get some legal advice over this matter.
