Disobeying a traffic control signal?
In New York I took a left down a 2 way road and got pulled over and ticketed. I had never heard or seen a sign like that before. I'm pleading not guilty but can someone please explain to me what this is? What I could plead instead? And how much a fine for this in NY usually is?

did you go through a yellow light, that is a controlled signal.
Read the whole ticket again carefully, and see if there is any mention of speed. A traffic control device, could be a speed limit sign, but it is not usually referred to in that way. How many violations did your son commit?. Maybe he got a ticket for one violation, and not the other. THEN AGAIN, maybe the Officer made a mistake. Too many unknown factors, sorry!.
