Christmas has never really worked out for me. When I was a kid, my parents never spent much on us. Just a few clothes or some toy from the 99 cent store. Nothing to feel guilty about.
When we had our son, we spent a lot on him. We wanted him to have wonderful christmases and birthdays, he never asked for much, but we bought him things that he loved. Three years ago he walked out of our lives because of the person he married. We have not seen or heard from him since.
We do not celebrate the holidays anymore.
But yes, if someone bought me something expensive, I would feel guilty. I want nothing but to have my son back.
i dont spend a lot of money on my sister, my niece, brother in law dad i do how ever spend more money on my kids that what christmas is for is the kids i had some nice chrismases as a kid just enjoy it as adults we dont want things from our kids we like spending time with the kids as you kids get older it is harder to have that time so on christmas we just have that family time . so dont feel guilty we do this because we love our kids .

Well, how old are you? If you're a kid and dont have a job or otherwise have the means to buy gifts, there is no need to feel guilty.

It's normal to feel guilty. But your parents want you to be happy, so be happy- for them! (:
And maybe next time you can put more effort on your present. :p
I feel guilty because I didn't give my lump of coal to a poor person.
No. I specifically told them I wanted NOTHING for Christmas SEVERAL times. I'm greatful anyways.
I do too! It's like, "Ohmigosh Mom, thank you so much, I feel like my 1 homemade present to you is so crappy now" :/
I felt a little bad.
No, I just apreciate everything and thank them. :)
