A question I was answering for a pickup artist was deleted before I could finish. Seems the young man needed answers on success anxiety. He felt a bit guilty about being TOO successful as a PUA, and was wondering what he should do about it.
Does Y/A! consider such people to be policy violators by their very nature, or what?

If you were only part way through the answer it is possible the user had already had an answer and had withdrawn it, or had seconds thoughts and had withdrawn it or it had been a violation and had been deleted.
It is annoying if that happens to you but it is rare, and you just say damn and move along to the next question to answer.

Rarely is it the subject matter that gets a question deleted. It is usually the form. Chances are strongest that this question violated the Guidelines in some way other than its content. It wasn't deleted because he's a PUA; it was probably chatty and deemed to be "not of general interest."
This is an information exchange site -- not a chat room or social contact site or discussion forum. Questions here must be seeking knowledge or advice of general interest to the community. Answers must attempt to answer the question.
Many things that would be perfectly fine on a social site or in a chat room are definitely not ok here, as this is an information exchange site. Because its aim is different, its rules are different. It's really not very wise to agree to something and then not find out what the something really is.
When you signed up to use this site, you agreed to follow the Community Guidelines here. Please read them. They are short and only take a real minute to read through. Then you'll see exactly what kind of site this is and isn't. The Guidelines are found under the ABOUT tab at the top of the page.
Once you've read them, there is even a short quiz you can take that can get you 20 extra points. http://answers.yahoo.com/info/community_guidelines... It also lets you know if you have understood the Guidelines as well as you think you have. Violations cost 10 points each. Be sure you know how to avoid them.
