A heat engine has a heat source at 400C. It has an efficiency of 30%
What is the temperature at which the engine rejects heat?
If the engine produces 100HP, what must be the rate of heat input (in W)
What is the rate of heat output (in W)
Im lost on this topic:(... need help!!

a) I am not 100% sure on the first answer.
400C = 673 Kelvin (absolute)
70% of energy is lost. This is equivalent to 70 x 673 / 100
i.e 471.1K or 198 C
Engine rejects heat at 198 C
b) Output = 100 HP
1HP = 746 Watts : 100 HP = 74600 W
Efficiency = Output / Input
30 % = 74600 / Input
Input = 74600 x100 / 30 = 248, 667 W
Input = 248.7 kW
c) Output = 100 HP = 74600 W
