you meet so many different people in airports,
i made a friend 3 years ago who i still keep in contact with on fb till today.. and she just randomly came to me in heathrow airport ( in london ) and sat by me and was like " hi can i sit here?? whats your name where are you from?" and i was like :O omg...cause umm when im sitting alone i dont look so friendly, i look a little stern..so she kind of surprised me, then she was like " you kind of remind me of kim kardashian" and i don't know why i got shy from her saying that ( i didnt even know who kim kardashian was at that time LOL i know im a loser but ya i googled her later and was like wHA ?! ...so for the next 6 hours we spent our time together in the airport chatting and walking while waiting for our flights...she was persian and was going to Iran and i was going back to Canada and she was so damn sweet ! i loved it :D
who have you met in an airport?? Weird, friendly, rude, funny...anybody interesting???

It was in JFK in New York.. I was coming to Egypt and as usual Egyptair did a dirty trick with us.. well, they knew that the flight was not going to take off... yet they took the luggage, loaded it in the plane, and filled the plane with pasengers then told us that there will be a delay and the new take off time is not known yet, so they will take us to a hotel. We disembarked from the plane and went to a hotel in the airport, and as usual Egyptian style chaos 7awaly 180 bany 2adam 2oddam mowazzaf el reception... mahzala we 5ena2at ma3a ba3d we ma3a Egyptair representative we 7aga zebala.. so I put my luggage aside and stood far from this shi*.. maho 7aynayemoony 3'asb 3anhom .. anyway ... we were a group of 7 or 8 people who did the same and the rest struggled to get a room fi el mahzala di.. after about two hours they told us the the hotel is FULL... so... we will take u to the Hilton... 2olt yasalaaaam... sobort we nolt yala.. so at the Hilton I requested a long distance phone line in the room and paid for it to call el gama3a elly 7ayesta2beloony fi masr we a2ollohom 3al balwa di le2annohom gayyeen men alex.. anyway in the morning I went down to the restaurant and this bearded guy came to ask me for help that the pay phone took his money and didn't connect him.. I spoke to the operator and she said they will repay him after two days or sth... the guy seemed so worried and desperate.. so I asked him wht's the story? he told me that he is Albanian (he spoke 3araby fasee7) and he studied in Azhar and his wife and kids left Albania to Greece and took a plane to Cairo which was supposed to arrive at the same time with his plane... shoofo 5awazee2 Egyptair ba2a... and the woman doesn't speak Arabic wala English... and he wanted to call his friends in cairo to take care of this situation... ya3ny ma2saah... so I told him to come and make the call from my phone, and I refused to take the money he offered me... then we became friends.. and I had to speak Native Arabic all the time coz he didn't understand Egyptian dialect.. It felt funny though... sawfa nazhab ila al mat3am al2aan we 7agat keda
When I was in the airport in Rome from Egypt and waiting to go to NJ (5 hours in between!!!) we met a Lebanese family other than us and they were very kind and went on the same flight with us. I wonder how far are they from us now.
Nope never did actually, never was alone on a flight and never had anyone coming up to me like this, cause when i look stern, i look very stern.
Anyhow Mayar said that her mother tells her not to talk to strangers LOL xD She's being sarcastic though =D
No not really..I usually have my face stuffed in some book, so I don't really seem that inviting to people to walk up to me.
That said, there are the typical tourist conversations on my flights to Egypt. When I speak Arabic and they realize I'm Egyptian, they tend to spend the rest of the flight askin about stuff in Egypt, but we all get those.
No one im with my parents, but last time I was in the airport the guys that worked there would hit on me. My mom has a pace maker so they have to do a thorough check on my mom and my sister had to get checked too b/c we got our passports done fast or whatever. So my dad and brother were like stay with our stuff while they go with my mom and sister.
As I was standing there, the guys who work there were like talkin to me and I'm just standing there, and one of the guys looked at my passport and was like dudeeeee she's 16 and the others were like who cares. LOL that's my excuse. I look young so when someone hits on me I'm like im 16, and they get the hint lol.
That was it though.
This wasn't exactly a direct encounter...but there was this valley type girl at CAI wearing nothing but a t-shirt waiting around with her sidekick friend. Pretty funny stuff. She was REALLY loud talking on the phone--she was like "OMYGOSH BUT LIKE I LIKE MADE A RESERVATION..I"M GOING TO LIKE MISS MY FLIGHT NOW"---(in this high piched valley-girl type voice). Haha. So she prances over to where I was ---and asks "DO YOU SPEAK ENGLISH? GREAT> CAN WE CUT YOU? I"M GOING TO MISS MY FLIGHT?" And so she cuts through, and about an hour and a half later--low and behold---she's on the same plane as us..haha.
