I've perused the web but have a question or two that someone may have some specific information on. I'll be 35 in two years when I leave the US Army and would like to enter the process of applying for the position of Special Agent with the FBI. My question is this: I have 6 years in the US Army and I understand that the federal law enforcement agencies subtract your years of military service from your age for the requirement, which would make me 29 for purposes of application.
Does anyone know if this is confirmed and if so, any further information on transitioning from intelligence in the military to Special Agent in the FBI? I have multiple degrees from a major US university prior to enlisting in the Army, so that requirement is met as well. Thanks for any help!

First of all I would apply to the FBI only after you have exhausted all other jobs you want. The reason being is the FBI subjects applicants to a polygraph that is for all intents and purposes public record. If you apply for a State or Local agency and failed the FBI poly (which over %50 do fail) they will find out and it will reflect negatively on you.
That being said military time does count toward your retirement pay.

i desire to be a federal agent as quickly as I m older, I m 10 now. I watch lots of NCIS, and that i play criminal Case lots. It sounds epic being a federal investigator, vacationing crime scenes, interrogating human beings, in basic terms the thought-approximately carrying around an FBI badge. I m from the united kingdom, too. It s of my many backup interest techniques. I don t have a criminal record, yet. And, I m not proceeding on getting one. Sorry, yet I don t somewhat have an answer, I in basic terms concept I could post this.
