why do people around me want to be a stumbling block to legitimate financial progress that is of benefit to everyone? being nice doesn't persuade them.
Most people don't intentionally do that, though some do.
In any event, most people are most comfortable with the status quo. They are usually negative because people usually feel better about themselves when they can say "see, I told you so."
Many people say they want to get rich, or whatever, but few are willing to put forth the effort to get there. They want to see others do it first so they don't have to feel like a failure trying to do somthing and not succeeding.
Just press on and keep the faith. Things will work out if you keep at it.
Are you selling a financial product, or are you an individual investor? Either way, I'll try to address this.
If you are in SALES, then you must appeal to their financial senses and personalize the impact your product has for THEM; not for someone in your brochure or something in a pitch taught by the people you report to.
If you are an individual INVESTOR, then you don't have to answer to anyone but your creditors. As long as you keep your mortgage bank happy, your creditors happy, and your broker happy (no margin calls!) then you can keep on keeping on - regardless of what outsiders think of your career.
