help skyrim, cant complete escaped criminal quest?
I tried to do villas quest escaped criminal. I guess I failed it and now there is an x by it on the completed quest log. I wanna do a job for aela the huntress but I can't because of this quest. Is there anychance that the criminal is still wandering around in the rift.

Your best bet is to load a save before you failed it and try it again.
Reload the game that should work and the criminal will be there and you can kill him/her
