Update:Bloomberg is an Independent. The city is run and represented by libs, and is staffed by affirmative action hires. 80% of government workers are minorities in NY.
Update 3:@smells: They've been running elections in those districts since the 1700s. They should know how to do it by now and why isn't the digital systems in place?? They flubbed that. Its not hard. These things are trivial, highly predictable processes.

The Mayor of NYC has been a republican for the last 20 years, genius. The secretary of state of New York, who is in charge of elections, is an independent. He was unanimously confirmed for his current position by every single democrat and republican in the state senate.
Where do you get the odd idea that voting is a simple or mundane task?
Especially in a city that is larger than 70% of states?
Now now. It isn't just big liberal cities with problems at election time. You folks who vote in out houses have your share of electoral difficulties as well.
