Communication is key! Perhaps you could ask your contractor to provide you with a daily email stating the progress that has been completed on a daily or weekly basis. This would be providing you have hired a contractor, and that your contractor has the availability to email. If not my last suggestion is to keep in close communication via telephone. I would also ask for a picture showing some completed work. Hope this is of some help to you!
