used a CD burning software. Windows based machines have terrible integrated burning functions. If you have iTunes, use it to burn a CD.
Open iTunes.
Select File>then select New Playlist
From your Music Library, drag the song, or songs, you want to burn into the newly created playlist.
After creating the playlist, and organizing the songs to your liking, click the "Burn Disc" button. It should be at the bottom of the iTunes window, This should burn the CD.

Considering the information that you are giving(it's not much), try it with another blank cd.
Sometimes they are faulty and aren't recognized as blank.
If that isn't the case give some additional information(software used, brand of cd....)
